Paper Punches and Crepe Paper Flowers

I have a load of paper punches that I somehow have picked up over these year and unfortunately not used them at all thanks to having a great Michaels store a few steps away from my home....

I thought I should put these and all the stacks of paper I have left over after all my orders and all the paper I have ordered for the 3 books I wrote a while back,so some time back I was in card making deluge..and recently I came back to these and thought this was the time to take pictures of them and perhaps redesign a few of them to sent to loved ones..especially with my new cricut machine that I have to add sentiments..

I sometime looks at all the paper I have and wonder and gulp :-) as I am sure all crafters do..

Here are some basic card I made all created using paper punches, some are via Martha Stewart and some are Fiskars..

This one used quilling ideas I have in the book "How to Make 100 Paper flwoers"

this one paired with my paper dahlia I made recently and the leaves I cut using my new cricut explore (isn't it beautiful! and what a breeze to make them)

Origami Easter gift basket Tutorial

A lovely and super easy gift basket that you can make out a single sheet of paper - yes can you believe a  single sheet? to pack your goodies for your baby shower or Easter or upcoming valentines!

There are 10 other such creative boxes in my new kit on Amazon. To create this one you would need one 6 by 6 square paper preferably double sided which is a good feature of the kit that all the papers are double sided and soo gorgeous!

Step1: Cut one square paper into half lengthwise.(it's a square so anyways :-) fold the rectangle into half bringing the taller side into half.Fold this into half bothways marking the edges to get half points.Bring up the folded corner edges to meet at center to form 2nd step in first picture.Fold this triangle formed inward (open the paper and tuck in the triangles to result in first shape in step 2.)

Step 2: Turn over and bring flap to meet at the middle.Turn over the shape and repeat step to result in first shape in Step 3.
Step 3: Fold upwards the bottom triangle creasing the fold very well using any hard tool.Fold down the top corners of the flap to meet at middle to form handles.

Step 4: Bring folded handles up and tuck one handle within the other like shown in 2nd shape to form a lovely box to hold all sort of goodies and favors.

Welcome 2016 and a Origami Box Tutorial

I have been taking it easy mainly because of the arrival of my new bundle of joy on Dec 1st! An advent Christmas gift after a stormy ride.. It had been a tough ride riddled with lots of prayers :-) God has been merciful and true and guided us to safety! So today I am looking back at the year to give Him all the Glory for his awesome Mercy especially at this year of Mercy..

The two origami kits are out and we have been getting a lots of pictures of flowers and boxes created out of them! Thank you all for senting them in! I am hoping to be creating more this year even though I have a little one in tow:-)

Celebrating the baby theme here is a very easy origami box  (tutorial that will follow) that can be done for a baby shower or for Easter or Valentines day even to hold all those yummy candies..

Holy Infant,we place at Thy Feet,
All our sorrows and our joys!
